Ariel or Aerial?
A strange two game early slate takes place today. Hopefully you’ve had your coffee and are ready for some morning WNBA DFS action! Let’s get into it!
New York Liberty @ Connecticut Sun
New York is a team that is very tricky to get a read on these days. They have been playing a huge rotation, going 10 and 11 players deep in their last two games. This gigantic rotation makes it very tricky to choose anyone on this team, as even Tina Charles (9.6k DK, 7k FD) has seen her minutes drop since the Eurobasket-ers returned. There is a new addition, in Marine Johannes (5.2k, 5k), who set the world on fire in her last game, scoring 17 points on a perfect 4/4 from three. Her price does seem a little expensive, but I cannot fault you for playing her.
Connecticut draws a great matchup with the up-tempo Liberty. This high pace makes Jonquel Jones (10.6k, 8.2k) one of the best plays on the slate. She is as close to a lock for a double double as one can be. Jasmine Thomas (9k, 6.2k) is once again far too low of a price on FanDuel, as she has been incredibly productive this year, even grabbing 35+ minutes in certain games.

Washington Mystics @ Minnesota Lynx
Washington has an injury of their own, in the form of Ariel Atkins. Atkins missed the last game with achilles soreness, and there has not been a report on her status for this one. In her absence, Aerial Powers (6.6k, 5.2k) filled in admirably, scoring over 30 fantasy points. Powers is again a great play if Atkins remains out. Powers’ low price, especially on FanDuel, allows you to also roster Elena Delle Donne (11k, 8.3k), who has been a walking double double. Delle Donne should play ~33 minutes in a non-blowout, and is the top play on the slate, even against a solid defensive team in the Lynx.
The Lynx welcomed back Damiris Dantas (7.4k, 5.7k) last game. She is not an option yet, as she is still working back into her starting minutes, as she only played 18 last game. Instead, I like Napheesa Collier (8.3k, 6.9k), whose price has fallen in the recent weeks. Alongside Collier, I also like Odyssey Sims (8.9k, 7.3k), who has been shouldering a lot of the offensive load this year, coming into this game with a whopping 26% usage rate. It is, however, a tough matchup against one of the best defenses in the league.
