A day ahead with some potential bench pieces to step up

Minnesota Lynx @ New York Liberty

Minnesota draws a great matchup with New York. New York has been a daily fantasy dream to play against, as they both play at a high pace and are also below average defensively. The only issue is that there is not a true daily fantasy star on Minnesota. Sylvia Fowles (11.2k, 8.2k) has taken a bit of a backseat with regards to accumulating counting stats. Unfortunately, her price has not really adjusted to this new role, and she is still one of the highest priced players on the slate. Napheesa Collier (9.4k, 7.6k) is probably the best option on the team, as she has really just been a monster in her rookie year.

Damiris Dantas (6.5k, 5.7k) is questionable again, and it seems as though her previous calf injury is once again acting up. If Dantas is out, Stephanie Talbot (7.1k, 5.3k) should step into the starting lineup and become an immediate value play, especially on FanDuel. Talbot should grab high-twenties minutes, and is a great option.

New York will be missing Amanda Zahui B. and Asia Durr for another game. In the last game, Bria Hartley (6.4k, 5.2k) and Reshanda Gray (5.3k, 5.4k) started in their place. Hartley had an incredible game, playing 34 minutes and amassing over 30 fantasy points. While I certainly think she is a great play, I would caution you to temper expectations, as Hartley likely only played over 30 minutes because she was playing so well. Gray, on the other hand, only saw 14 minutes, in part due to extreme foul issues. If Gray can play over 20 minutes , she is a great play.

Atlanta Dream @ Las Vegas Aces

Atlanta draws a dream matchup (haha…) with the up-tempo Aces. The Aces play at the highest tempo in the league, allowing for lots of opportunities for opponent players. Tiffany Hayes (8.8k, 7.4k) is most likely to take advantage of this, as she has been the only consistent piece on Atlanta’s offense. Hayes is coming off of a huge 34 point performance, and has been taking a ton of shots recently. She is a tier 1 play.

As well, Monique Billings (5.8k, 4.9k) is questionable again. If she is out, it should mean more minutes for Jessica Breland (7.9k, 6.7k). Breland has been great on a per minute basis this year, but just has not played the minutes. Breland played 31 and 25 minutes in the games where Billings did not play. If Breland is somewhere in that minutes range, she will easily hit value.

For Las Vegas, it is the usual suspects. Liz Cambage (11k, 8.4k) and Dearica Hamby (10.4k, 7.4k) are once again top options on the slate, due to their incredible ability to score fantasy points. The only worry for these two is that the game gets out of hand, and they play significantly less minutes than usual.

As well, Kelsey Plum’s (6.4k, 4.4k) price has been refused to be raised on FanDuel, and for some reason she is $4400. This is insane, and I expect her to be extremely highly owned, and for good reason.
