Seattle Storm continue to get closer to 12 players

Today the Seattle Storm announced that they have decided to waive forward Zykera Rice.
Rice was signed to a training camp contract on April 18 by the Seattle Storm.

The Tacoma, Washington native played her collegiate career at Gonzaga University.
During her final go-around as a Bulldog, Rice led the team in scoring and rebounding.
She averaged 15.0 points per game and pulled down 5.8 rebounds per contest, accumulating 198 boards on the season.

Her ensuing play led the Bulldogs to a NCAA Tournament berth for the third season in a row, and a first-round tournament win against Butler.

Rice was named to the 2018-2019 WCC-First Team and WCC-All Tournament Team.

During Rice’s stint with the Seattle Storm, the 6-foot-one forward registered 13 minutes of play in the Storm’s preseason game against the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday 6/15.

Making her way into the game late in the third quarter, Rice went 1-for-3 from the field, added two points, two steals, and one assist.

As of now, Seattle has 20 players on their roster, including nine guards and eight forwards.
All league rosters must be reduced to 12 players on or before May 23.

The reigning WNBA champions suit up again Friday, May 17 for their final preseason game against the Los Angeles Sparks. The Storm open the regular season on May 25, playing the Phoenix Mercury at 3:30 PM EST on ABC.
