Kelsey Plum was ruled out for Tuesday's Chicago Sky-Las Vegas Aces game with an ankle injury, per Callie Lawson-Freeman of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The Aces are led by A'ja Wilson and they will still be the favorite against the Sky, especially with Chennedy Carter out as well. Las Vegas also has enough depth to still play at a competitive level. Nevertheless, Plum will be missed as she is one of the best players in the WNBA.
Plum, 30, is averaging 17.6 points per game on 41.1 percent field goal and 34.9 percent three-point shooting. She is also recording 2.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per outing. It has been a down season by her standards without question.
Plum is a three-time All-Star. She still made the All-Star team in 2024, but Plum played at a much higher overall level in 2022 and 2023. With that being said, the Aces understand how impactful she is to their success.
In all reality, the Aces have not played up to their expectations during the 2024 campaign. They are 20-12 which is good for second place in the Western Conference, but Las Vegas expects to be at or near the very top of the WNBA on a consistent basis.
Sky-Aces game on Tuesday night
Tuesday's game against the Sky could be a competitive contest. The absences of stars such as Plum and Carter will surely impact the outcome of the game.
The Aces will continue to provide updates on Kelsey's Plum's injury status moving forward.
