Angel Reese is in the middle of a phenomenal rookie season. It seems like almost every game she is breaking records. Reese accomplished an especially impressive feat on Friday night against the Connecticut Sun, becoming the first rookie since Shaquille O'Neal to record two 20-rebound games in a row, per Yahoo Sports.

The Sun were defeated in a competitive game 82-80. Still, Reese played well. In addition to her 20 rebounds, the Sky star had 13 points, three assists and two blocks. Reese received help from teammates Chennedy Carter (19 points, six rebounds) and Kamilla Cardodo (18 points, six rebounds). However, it was Reese who made headlines with her historic performance.

Angel Reese shines despite difficult defeat

Chicago saw their record fall to 11-17 with the loss. They are now 13.5 games behind the first place New York Liberty in the Eastern Conference. The Sky are in fourth place in the conference, trailing the Sun and Indiana Fever as well.

Reese and the Sky still have an opportunity to reach the postseason, though. Chicago needs to bounce back soon in order to avoid falling further in the standings. There is reason for optimism given the depth on the team.

Sure, Reese, Carter and Cardoso have impressed. When Chicago wins games, though, they tend to receive impactful performances from their role players. The Sky unquestionably benefit when they turn in a quality all-around team effort.

Things will not get any easier on Sunday as the Sky will battle the Las Vegas Aces. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 PM EST in Chicago.
