The Chicago Sky currently hold a 10-14 record in 2024. They had an exciting, albeit rather inconsistent start to the 2024 WNBA season. Angel Reese and the Sky may be poised for a big second half of the '24 campaign, however.

Reese has made it clear that she is ready for play to resume. The Sky rookie was selected to the 2024 WNBA All-Star team. She has consistently recorded double-doubles and appears to be a future superstar. The 22-year-old is averaging 13.5 points per game. Additionally, Reese is averaging 11.9 rebounds per outing. Reese's rebound average is second in the WNBA.

Reese and Caitlin Clark headlines have dominated the WNBA this season. They are constantly being linked to one another, as they have had a rivalry since college. Reese, though, is ready to move forward on her own path. She wants to lead the Sky. Chicago features an intriguing roster and perhaps they can make a deep playoff run.

Sky's remaining 2024 outlook

Chennedy Carter is one of the most underrated players in the WNBA. Her 17.2 points per outing lead the Sky. Kamilla Cardoso has displayed potential, as she is averaging 8.1 points per game to go along with a team leading 1.1 blocks per outing.

Sure, the Sky may not be ready to seriously compete with juggernauts in the Eastern Conference like the New York Liberty and Connecticut Sun. With that being said, Chicago is tied for third place in the Eastern Conference with the Indiana Fever.

All Chicago needs to do is book their ticket to the postseason. If they accomplish that feat, anything can end up happening once the playoffs begin. Even if the Sky don't reach the WNBA Finals, they should have an opportunity to make a deep postseason run in 2024.

The long-term future for the Sky is especially bright with Angel Reese leading the way.
