Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson was announced as the unanimous 2024 WNBA MVP on Sunday. Wilson enjoyed a historic season, ultimately leading the Aces back to the playoffs. Now Wilson is looking to help Las Vegas earn a third consecutive championship. However, she first shared a heartfelt message with the team after the news of her MVP was announced, via the Las Vegas Aces' YouTube channel.

Wilson gave a speech to her teammates after learning that she had won the award. She took the time to share messages with each player on the team, something that truly shows how grateful she is for her teammates. Wilson's messages to each individual player can be seen in the video.

Wilson concluded her speech by thanking the entire team, crediting them for her award.

"I cannot thank you all enough," Wilson said. "I hope you guys understand how much you mean to me. I hope you guys know that this trophy is nothing without y’all. We’ve been through the ringer – and we gon’ continue to go through the ringer – but one thing y’all don’t ever have to worry about is A’ja going anywhere."

Wilson is unquestionably a superstar. Her dominance in the WNBA cannot be denied. She is now a three-time MVP winner, something that only three players had accomplished previously.

Wilson is establishing herself as an all-time great. Yet, she is only 28 years old. The sky's the limit for Wilson. Her humility and willingness to share the credit with those around her only makes fans like her more.

A'ja Wilson is the face of the WNBA

The WNBA had a historic 2024 season from both an attendance and viewership standpoint. Of course, the rookies received plenty of credit for that as Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese brought an entirely new audience to the game.

With that being said, Wilson has been bringing new fans to the league for years. Greatness sells, something that is true in any industry. The same can be said for the WNBA.

There are plenty of stars in the league, but legends are rare to find. Is Wilson a legend yet? She still has work to do, but it is clear that the 28-year-old is on that kind of trajectory.

Wilson became only the second player to win the MVP award unanimously. The Aces star's accomplishments in 2024 could write a book on their own.

Again, Wilson and the Aces are now turning their focus toward the playoffs. Las Vegas has won back-to-back championships. Winning a third will certainly be a challenge, but their experience will serve them well in the postseason.

It should be noted that the Aces are entering the 2024 playoffs as the No. 4 overall seed. They are not the favorite to win it all. However, that will only add extra motivation for the team.

A'ja Wilson is surely proud of winning the MVP, but she would love nothing more than to lead her team to a third consecutive championship.
