The 2024 WNBA Playoffs are set to begin on Sunday with all eight teams in action. The Las Vegas Aces are looking to win their third consecutive championship, however, they are just the No. 4 seed heading into the postseason. Meanwhile, the New York Liberty project to have a tremendous opportunity to earn a championship as the No. 1 seed. All eyes will also be on Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever as they hope to defy expectations and make a deep playoff run.

What should fans expect to occur in the postseason? Which team will win the championship? Here are three predictions for the 2024 WNBA Playoffs.

3. Fever upset Sun

The Fever became one of the most popular teams in all of sports after drafting Clark. The rookie excelled during her college career at Iowa, something that has not changed at the WNBA level. The situation worked out especially well for Clark because she was drafted to a team that already featured potential.

Many times, the No. 1 overall pick in a draft is selected to a team that is years away from contending. The Fever feature plenty of stars around Clark, though, and they are now poised for a serious playoff push.

No, the Fever will probably not win a championship in 2024. However, the prediction here is that Indiana will upset the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the postseason.

2. Aces win third consecutive championship

The Minnesota Lynx finished as the No. 2 overall seed this season. Additionally, Minnesota held the best record in the Western Conference. However, A'ja Wilson and the Aces have the most overall playoff experience of any team in this year's postseason.

The Aces will battle the Storm in the first round. Their path to the championship will not be easy, as they will likely need to play the Liberty at some point. Nevertheless, the Aces will utilize their experience to earn a crucial advantage in the postseason.

1. A'ja Wilson wins WNBA Finals MVP

Chelsea Gray won the WNBA Finals MVP in 2022. A'ja Wilson won the award in 2023. If the Aces do end up earning their third consecutive championship, one has to imagine that Wilson will be in the driver's seat for the award.

The Aces superstar was announced as the unanimous MVP on Sunday. She has enjoyed a truly incredible season. Wilson is set to lead this Aces team throughout the postseason.

Wilson will win the 2024 WNBA Finals MVP, a fitting end to a memorable season.
