TCU women's basketball pulled off a massive upset on Friday. They entered Friday's game ranked No. 17 overall, while their opponent, Notre Dame, was No. 3. However, TCU emerged victorious, earning a 76-68 win. The team was excited to say the least, surprising head coach Mark Campbell with an epic celebration.

TCU looks like a dangerous team this season. They are now 7-0 after handing Notre Dame their first loss of the 2024-25 campaign. Expectations were not especially high for TCU heading into the season, but they are officially making noise now.

Hailey Van Lith's fit has undeniably been great up to this point. Following a down season at LSU, it became clear that she needed a change before potentially entering the WNBA Draft. Van Lith led the way with 21 points to go along with seven assists and three steals on Friday.

Van Lith had plenty of help, however.

Sedona Prince turned in a 20-point, 20-rebound double-double. Prince added eight blocks, four assists and three steals. She almost had a triple-double with blocks, which would have been an unbelievable feat. Nevertheless, Prince had a game to remember on Friday.

Madison Conner also had 18 points and six rebounds, while Taylor Bigby added nine points in the upset victory.

For Notre Dame, Hannah Hidalgo did all she could. She scored 27 points and added nine rebounds, five assists and three steals. In the end, though, TCU simply played a better all-around game than Notre Dame en route to the victory.

What's next for TCU women's basketball?

TCU will look to continue climbing up the standings on Saturday against South Florida. They will then go head-to-head with Florida Atlantic next Wednesday. Next Sunday, TCU will take on No. 4 South Carolina, a game that will certainly present a difficult challenge.

With that being said, TCU's confidence is extremely high at the moment after their win over Notre Dame. They must continue to play at a consistent level against their upcoming opponents, though. Otherwise, they may end up getting upset.

If they maintain the consistency, perhaps TCU will find a way to upset South Carolina next week.

TCU women's basketball has an opportunity to enjoy a special 2024-25 season. They have started strong without question, but there is still plenty of work to be done. TCU will be a must-watch team moving forward as they continue to establish themselves as a legitimate contender.
