Sparks star shares intriguing message before WNBA Draft Lottery

The Los Angeles Sparks are preparing for the WNBA Draft Lottery on Sunday. LA and the Dallas Wings have the best odds of landing the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. Whichever team earns the No. 1 pick in the draft will have an opportunity to select UConn women's basketball star Paige Bueckers, who is expected to be the 2025 WNBA Draft No. 1 overall pick.

Sparks star Dearica Hamby shared an attention-catching message on Sunday before the lottery.

Hamby did not specifically mention the lottery. However, she shared the message on X (formerly Twitter) just a few hours before the lottery. Hamby will surely be tuned in to the event.

The draft lottery is set to begin on Sunday night at 5 PM EST. Whichever team lands the No. 1 pick will have an opportunity to give their franchise a pivotal boost.

WNBA Draft Lottery odds

The Sparks have the best odds of any of the teams in the lottery with 442 out of 1,000 chances of earning the No. 1 overall pick. On the surface it seems as if LA is in the driver's seat. With that being said, there is an element of the lottery that will make the Sparks' chances not quite as certain.

The Wings and Chicago Sky both have 227 chances out of 1,000 of earning the No. 1 overall selection. Dallas, though, previously acquired a pick swap from Chicago. As a result, they can swap picks in the 2025 draft with the Sky.

The Wings odds, with the pick swap factored in, are 454 out of 1,000.

It should also be noted that the Washington Mystics have an outside chance with 104 out of 1,000. Washington's odds are slim but anything can happen in the lottery.

The Sparks and Wings almost have the same odds, though. Dallas holds a slight advantage but the Sparks and Wings are clearly the favorites. Of course, earning the No. 2 or No. 3 pick would not be terrible by any means. The 2025 draft class is set to feature no shortage of talent. Paige Bueckers does project to be a superstar in the WNBA, however.

Dearica Hamby and the Sparks are hoping for the best possible result in the WNBA Draft Lottery. The WNBA's complete attention will be placed on Sunday's lottery, as Bueckers features the potential to make a massive impact in the league.
