The Indiana Fever defeated the Atlanta Dream 84-79 on Monday. Caitlin Clark endured an injury scare in the game, but it appears to not be anything serious. In fact, Clark even said she looked "soft" after watching the replay of the injury scare, via Chloe Peterson of IndyStarSports.

"I saw the replay, I look really soft," Clark told reporters after the game. "It wasn't that bad of a turn, but it hurt... They were like, 'do you want to go in the back?' I was like, 'no, please just tape right here. Let's go.' Got to keep going, get on with the game."

Clark displayed toughness after returning to the game. She later made an honest admission about basketball players and ankle injuries.

"You're not a real basketball player if you haven't sprained your ankle," Clark added.

Clark has continued to play at a high level throughout the 2024 season. On Monday, the rookie scored 19 points and added seven rebounds and seven assists. However, Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 29 points. Mitchell also recorded seven rebounds in what was a terrific performance.

Fever head coach Christie Sides said before the game that having players like Clark, Aliyah Boston and NaLyssa Smith has led to more open shots for Mitchell. Mitchell scored 29 points on 10-23 shooting from the field and 3-10 shooting from beyond the arc on Monday. It was not her most efficient performance, but the high amount of shot attempts is telling of her confidence, something that may be enhanced by the looks she is receiving.

Fever's next game

Indiana now holds a 14-16 record. They will look to continue their pursuit of climbing over the .500 mark on Wednesday against the Connecticut Sun. Connecticut is one of the best teams in the WNBA, so they will certainly present a challenge for Indiana. The Fever are playing well right now, though, so an upset is a possibility.
