Aces' hyped reaction to A'ja Wilson, Jackie Young leading Team USA over Germany
Team USA women's basketball earned an 87-68 win over Team Germany on Sunday. The game featured a number of impressive individual performances, but it was the Las Vegas Aces stars who led the way.
Jackie Young recorded a team-leading 19 points to go along with four rebounds and four steals. Young also converted on five of her eight three-point attempts. A'ja Wilson, meanwhile, scored 14 points and had three steals and two blocks.
The Aces were excited after the game, sharing multiple messages on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Onto the quarterfinals," the team wrote.
"WE MOVE," the Aces wrote in a different post that included Young and Wilson's impressive statistics.
Aces star Jackie Young steps up for Team USA
A'ja Wilson is one of the best players in the WNBA. Kelsey Plum has also emerged as an All-Star. However, Jackie Young's contributions for the Aces, and now Team USA, should not go overlooked.
Young, 26, is a three-time All-Star. She does not always receive as much recognition as she deserves playing along other stars, but Young continues to make a big impact in multiple facets of the game.
She is currently averaging a career-high in points per game with 18.5 across 23 contests in 2024. Young is also averaging 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds per outing. She has spent her entire six-year career in Las Vegas. Young seemingly improves every season.
Team USA and the Aces are both thrilled to have her on their respective rosters.
Team USA's outlook after win
Team USA women's basketball now has 58 consecutive victories at the Olympics. Anything short of a gold medal will be considered a failure for the team. Fortunately for Team USA, they appear poised to win the gold medal at the moment. Of course, they cannot afford to take any opponent for granted.
The quarterfinals are set to begin on Wednesday. Team USA will have a few days to rest and prepare for the final stretch run of their Olympic journey. Perhaps the Aces stars will continue to shine moving forward. However, USA women's basketball will need a complete team effort as the Olympics continue.
