Former basketball star Rebecca Lobo is broadcasting the UConn women's basketball game on Sunday. Paige Bueckers entered the game just a few points away from moving to 11th on the UConn all-time scoring list. So who was she set to pass? Well, it happened to be Lobo. Sure enough, Bueckers passed her mark of 2,133 points early in the game.

Lobo was not upset by any means, though, rather saying she was grateful to even be on the list before sharing her joy for Bueckers, via espnW.

"I made the list... Congratulations to Paige Bueckers," Lobo said.

Bueckers has established herself as one of the best UConn athletes of all-time. She has continued to make a significant impact on her team. Bueckers is expected to be selected first overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Right now, she is focused on leading UConn on a potential championship run.

One team that will stand in their way is South Carolina, who UConn is playing on Sunday. A win will feel like a crucial statement for UConn. Nothing will come easy against this talented South Carolina team, however.

Paige Bueckers' 2025 season with UConn women's basketball

Heading into Sunday's game, Bueckers was averaging 18.7 points, 4.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 steals per outing. Bueckers has also shot 53.6 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Bueckers has seen a decline in her scoring production, as she averaged 21.9 points per contest last year. Nevertheless, the UConn guard is still playing at a high level. She will likely still be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft as well.

It will be intriguing to see if UConn can make a legitimate championship run. They will have plenty of work to do with a number of talented teams expected to compete for a championship. With Bueckers leading the way, though, anything is possible.

UConn leads South Carolina 45-23 at the half right now. Bueckers has seven points, six assists and three rebounds as of this story's writing. Although UConn holds a comfortable lead, there is still plenty of basketball left to be played. They must continue to play hard, as South Carolina is more than capable of making a comeback.

If UConn women's basketball, who is ranked No. 7 overall at the moment, can earn a victory, they should be able to move up in the rankings.
