Chicago Sky star Angel Reese received a $200 fine during a WNBA game in June after arguing foul calls and receiving two technical fouls. Chicago Bulls star Lonzo Ball was not a fan of the fine and offered to pay it for Reese. During a recent appearance on Reese's podcast Unapologetically Angel, it was revealed that Ball significantly over-paid for the fine.

After confirming that he did indeed pay it, Reese explained how the Bulls guard over-paid for the fine.

"So you gave me $2,000," Reese said, "do you know how much my fine actually was?"

"I don't know," Ball responded.

"It was only $200," Reese revealed.

Ball then explained that he contacted former Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon so he could pay the fine. He wanted to pay the fine for Reese, and Ball also revealed that he was at the game and that it was his first WNBA game ever.

Angel Reese, Lonzo Ball helping to lead Chicago sports

Reese and Ball are two of the biggest stars in Chicago sports at the moment. Ball has unfortunately dealt with injury trouble over the years, but he is still a reliable guard when healthy.

Reese, however, is fresh off a historic rookie season. She consistently recorded double-doubles, ultimately averaging 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game.

Angel Reese has been one of the most popular athletes in all of sports since her college basketball days at LSU. Her rivalry with Caitlin Clark receives no shortage of attention. Reese is a fan-favorite in Chicago, and her future in the WNBA is extremely bright.

Ball did not play in an NBA game in either of the 2022-23 or 2023-24 seasons as he battled injuries. He has played in five games so far in 2024-25. Injuries have still been problematic for him, but he has returned to the floor to help the Bulls.

Still, his playing time has been limited as he adjusts to the NBA once again. He should be able to take a step forward if he can stay healthy. At just 8-13 overall, though, Ball could be a trade candidate before the deadline.

At the moment, he is focused on staying healthy and helping the Bulls win games. Chicago is trying to turn their season around, something that may be difficult to accomplish.

As for Angel Reese, she is preparing for the Unrivaled Basketball league which begins in January.
