An overstocked conference filled with stars

On Tuesday, the Pac-12 revealed the 15 members of its All-Pac-12 women’s basketball team, as voted on by the conference’s 12 head coaches. The list is as follows:

  • Kristine Anigwe (C/F) – California
  • Maite Cazorla (G) – Oregon
  • DiJonai Carrington (G) – Stanford
  • Ruthy Hebard (F) – Oregon
  • Borislava Hristova (F) – Washington State
  • Megan Huff (F) – Utah
  • Kianna Ibis (F) – Arizona State
  • Sabrina Ionescu (G) – Oregon
  • Aari McDonald (G) – Arizona
  • Michaela Onyenwere (F) – UCLA
  • Mikayla Pivec (G) – Oregon State
  • Satou Sabally (F) – Oregon
  • Destiny Slocum (G) – Oregon State
  • Alanna Smith (F) – Stanford
  • Kiana Williams (G) – Stanford

Oregon — ranked 6th in the nation and 1st in the Pac-12 — leads the way with four members, including Ruthy Hebard and Sabrina Ionescu, who were both voted on for the third consecutive year. Alongside them, guard Maite Cazorla (2nd time) and forward Satou Sabally (1st time) both made the list.

Other highlights include Stanford’s three members, led by forward Alanna Smith. The senior from Australia leads the team in points per game (20.2) and sits 4th in that category in the Pac-12. She also happens to be this season’s Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

More from Pac-12

You also have to give a lot of credit to Cal senior Kristine Anigwe, who becomes just the 15th player in Pac-12 history to be named to the All-Conference team four times. She follows in the footsteps of Devanei Hampton, who achieved this feat as a member of the Golden Bears from 2006-2009.

Along with the all-Conference team announcement, the Pac-12 revealed its All-Defensive and All-Freshman teams.

For the All-Defensive team, Cal’s Anigwe heads up a squad that also consists of UCLA’s Kennedy Burke, USC’s Aliyah Mazyck, Arizona’s Aari McDonald, USC’s Minyon Moore, and Stanford’s Alanna Smith.

Utah guars Dre’Una Edwards and Dry Gylten both receive All-Freshman team honors, as well as UCLA’s Lindsey Corsaro, Stanford’s Lacie Hull, and Arizona’s Cate Reese.

In more conference news, Pac-12 Networks will air the Women’s Basketball Awards Reveal show on Tuesday, March 5, at 8 p.m. ET, where Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and other awards will be announced.
