More from WNBA

An unenviable task awaits the general managers of the WNBA, who need to evaluate both current free agents of their own teams and those from other teams, even as they travel the country and look at the best collegiate players, break down video of those players here and overseas, and try and put the puzzle together in just a few months, ahead of April’s 2019 WNBA Draft.

Few teams have more to solve than the Dallas Wings, who have both Glory Johnson and Karima Chirstmas-Kelly (last season’s cored player) on the free agent list, along with the unresolved status of Liz Cambage and Skylar Diggins-Smith. The former has not yet committed to playing in 2019 for Dallas, while the latter is expecting her first child.

Then there’s the fresh start in many ways Minnesota faces. Cheryl Reeve is entering her second year as general manager. While she’s always been an important part of the player evaluation process, it will be fascinating to see both who and how she prioritizes when she’s the one making the final call, and how she goes about addressing things like the point guard position in the post-Lindsay Whalen era, and what her plans are for the power forward spot as Rebekah Brunson winds down her glorious career.

So many questions. Head over to our salary database and start building your own answers. And, of course, make sure you are following High Post Hoops on social media and download our app to be certain you are notified the moment news breaks in what promises to be a fascinating offseason.
