More from High Post Hoops

WHITE PLAINS — The New York Liberty came out with more fire than they have in the last week, and maybe in the entire season.

It wasn’t enough, and the Sky beat the Liberty at home, 103-99.

The home team ran up an 11-point lead early in the first quarter. However, the Chicago Sky came back with a fury of their own.  Allie Quigley led the Sky with eight points to make it a one-point game at the half.

“Another tough one,” Liberty coach Katie Smith told reporters following the game. “We were able to put points on the board which felt good. We just couldn’t get stops on the defensive end when we needed. Chicago also shot the ball very well at the end of the game. We missed a bunch of layups and good looks. If those go down then we probably would’ve had momentum.”
