The New York Liberty have re-signed Bria Hartley, Kia Vaughn, Lindsay Allen and Rebecca Allen.
The Liberty announced the four signings together on Friday after a quiet week on the free agent front. The front office may have been forced to wait for more important dominos to fall first in regard to the potential sale of the team before making any moves.
Doug Feinberg of the Associated Press reported Tuesday that current owner James Dolan had taken the team off the block for now. We then learned that the Liberty would be played the majority of their games in 2018 at the Westchester County Center rather than Madison Square Garden.
Now that the ownership and arena questions have been answered at least in the interim, the team has resumed the free agency process, re-signing four of their six free agents.

Hartley and Vaughn were members of the starting lineup late last season, both in the playoffs and during the team’s 10 game winning streak to close to regular season.
Here come the Liberty: What New York’s winning streak means for the WNBA playoff picture
Are the New York Liberty, winners of 8 straight, peaking at just the right time? We try to answer that question just a week away from the WNBA playoffs.
Lindsay Allen’s role increased late in the season, where she excelled pushing the pace for the second unit. Rebecca Allen added value off the bench with her athleticism on the wing and ability to knock down shots from the outside.
“We are excited to have a pair of native New Yorkers in Kia and Bria re-sign with the Liberty,” said New York Liberty head coach Katie Smith in Friday’s release.
“Kia Vaughn continues to be one of the most consistent centers in the WNBA and was a solid veteran presence in our locker room last season,” Smith added. “Bria put her versatility on display every night, playing multiple positions, spending time at both the one and the two, and developing into one of our most consistent scoring threats.”
