FORT WORTH, TX – The Summitt has learned that junior point guard Recee’ Caldwell is out with a torn labrum. Caldwell did not make the trip to Fort Worth, as this is the second game she has missed due to the shoulder injury. Texas Tech’s interim head coach, Shimmy Gray-Miller, was not made available post game to comment on the injury or its timeline after being told by TCU communications staff that no media would be present.

TCU was able to claim their first Big 12 victory over Texas Tech Sunday afternoon. The 93-72 win over the Red Raiders was a complete team effort as six Frogs scored in double figures. The 93 points were the most scored by TCU in a league game in its six seasons in the Big 12.
The last game that Caldwell played in was against Baylor where she scored 4 points in 29 minutes before she sustained the shoulder injury. This was also the last game that Candi Whitaker was at the helm, before her departure.
Athletics Director Kirby Hocutt announced last Monday that Candi Whitaker had been relieved of her duties as the Texas Tech women’s basketball coach. Shimmy Gray-Miller was called to serve as interim head coach. Having not found a win in league play, Gray-Miller has her work cut out for her as she does not have Caldwell’s 10.7 ppg and 6 apg in the rotation.
The Red Raiders will host the Oklahoma Sooners Wednesday at 6pm.
