On Monday, the Big 12 Conference announced that the Baylor Bear’s swept week three’s honors. The Lady Bears traveled to the Bahamas to participate in the Junkanoo Jam where they secured the title with wins against Missouri State and Georgia Tech.

For the first time in her career, sophomore Lauren Cox was named Big 12 player of the week. After missing the trip to UCLA, Cox returned to the court with a vengeance. She averaged a double-double with 20.0 points and 13.0 rebounds in the Jam. Cox shot 48.6 percent from the floor, 50 percent from three-point range and was perfect from the foul line. Her performance landed her a spot on the Junkanoo Jam all-tournament team.
Last season Lauren Cox was named freshman of the week four times. Now, she has passed the reigns off to Alexis Morris. Morris averaged 14.0 points, 3.0 steals, and 2.5 rebounds in their wins in the Bahamas. Against Missouri State, the freshman scored a career-high 17 points, grabbed 4 boards, and dished 3 assists. In the two-game stretch, the freshman shot 58.8 percent from the floor, 66.7 percent from beyond the arc and was perfect from the free throw line.
This coming week will include a top-25 matchup. In the fourth annual. Big 12/SEC challenge the No. 9 Baylor Bears will host the No.20 Kentucky Wildcats at home. Coverage will be on FCS, November 30th at 7pm.
