The Ducks started their season with two victories over Cal State Northridge (91-43) and Drake (110-77). The Ducks were picked by both the media and Pac-12 coaches to finish second in the Pac-12 this season. In the latest AP Top 25 poll released Monday, the Ducks were ranked 10th in the nation.

Ionescu notched her fifth career triple-double on Sunday against Drake (29 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists). The 29 points set a new career high for the ’16-’17 All-Pac-12 guard. This is Ionescu’s second time being honored as the conference player of the week. With those five career triple-doubles, she is just two away from the NCAA record.

Ionescu’s stats through two games: 22 PPG, 8 RPG, 9 APG, 57.7% shooting, 9-14 3PT.

Sabally scored 11 points in her debut, then followed that up with 20 points on Sunday against Drake. The freshman from Germany shot 61.9% from the field and had four steals and two blocks in her first two games for the Ducks.

Ionescu, Sabally and the Ducks play next on Thursday in College Station against #19 Texas A&M at 5:00 PM PST.
