Yesterday the Chicago Sky announced they have retained forward Bashaara Graves for the remainder of the season. Graves signed two seven-day contracts with the club this season before being added to the roster. In five games, Graves is averaging 3.8 points per game and 3.4 rebounds for her second WNBA team.
She was a 2016 second-round draft pick by the Minnesota Lynx out of the University of Tennessee. Graves made 12 appearances for Minnesota last season and averaged less than one point per game. At Tennessee, she averaged 10.3 ppg, 8.3 rpg at a 53.8 percent clip during a senior year. She finished third in UT history with 1,044 career rebounds
The Sky have five games remaining, including tonight’s matchup with the Connecticut Sun. Chicago has dropped three games to the Sun this season. Tonight will be the final regular season meeting between the teams. The Sky will then take on the New York Liberty on Sunday afternoon, before returning to Rosemont to face the Dallas Wings
The Sky currently sit two games out of a playoff spot down the stretch of the 2017 season. The team has dropped its last two contests and will look to get hot again this weekend before facing off against the eighth place Wings at home. Glory Johnson will return for the Wings after serving a one game suspension.
