The San Antonio Stars have signed forward Cierra Burdick for the remainder of the season, the team announced on Monday.

More from High Post Hoops

The Stars had signed Burdick to a seven-day contract on Aug. 14, though she did not appear in a game.

Burdick has played in six games this season, all with the New York Liberty. Her best outing came in her debut, ironically against the Stars, when she scored 10 points on 5-6 shooting in 17 minutes.

This is Burdick’s third season in the WNBA, after being drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in the second round of the 2014 WNBA Draft. She then signed with the Atlanta Dream and played sparingly over two seasons.

With the Stars just 7-23 on the season and squarely out of the playoff race, this figures to be a time where Burdick can try to make a statement as she looks toward next year.

The Stars have won four of their last six games, but must travel to Los Angeles to face the Sparks next. That game is Tuesday night at 10:30 p.m. ET. on NBATV.
