Kobe Bryant knows a thing or two about playing basketball at the highest level, so when that’s how he describes the WNBA, it should not be taken lightly.

The WNBA released a promotional video on its YouTube channel on Monday, where Bryant called the league just that, then went into detail about how his daughter follows the league, and how it has become the dream destination for female basketball players growing up. Bryant emphasizes how young women, his daughter included, look up to players in the WNBA and how many aspire to reach the same heights as their heroes.

Take a look at the full video here:

The WNBA has not hesitated to pull in the NBA’s biggest names to talk about the league this season. After all, most great basketball players are also basketball fans, so guys like Bryant have an inherent appreciation for the WNBA. The league caught up with Bryant earlier in the year to talk about Diana Taurasi breaking the WNBA all-time scoring record, an also interviewed Chris Paul when Taurasi broke the three-point record. Then there’s this interview with John Wall, who has been following the Washington Mystics closely.

This has been an effective way for the WNBA to market itself, and with the playoff chase heating up, expect to hear more from the NBA’s best in the coming weeks.
