De Souza has played 27 games for the Stars this season, starting 21 of them, though she has only averaged about 12.5 minutes per contest. While her career numbers have started to slide — her scoring, rebounding, and advanced statistics this season are all below her career averages — she has been a veteran presence for a young team that has suddenly won three straight games.
Still, the Stars are just 6-21, good for the worst record in the WNBA.
During San Antonio’s recent streak, de Souza’s minutes and impact have slid. Over the past four games, she has played just 18 total minutes, attempted two shots from the floor, and grabbed two rebounds.
The Stars will face de Souza’s former team on Thursday without her in an 8 p.m. ET tip-off on ESPN3. The team then returns home to host the Dream on Saturday.
