The Golden State Valkyries are no longer underdogs; they are WNBA champions. While it's obvious their recruitment and mentality have thrived on that mantle, it is an identity they can't embrace any longer. This organisation was never here to make up the numbers; they came to dominate. Yet, with a title to their name, the front office will refuse to stand still. The next step in their evolution is obvious: recruit an offensive superstar and create a dynasty.

Two years as a franchise, and the Valkyries already have a WNBA championship to their name; it's simply absurd. Acquiring players with something to prove has been a point of emphasis for the front office, and it has worked wonders. Golden State's resilient mentality on both sides of the ball has been the catalyst for their success, but moving forward, they can do more.

Gabby Williams has been an unbelievable asset for the Valkyries, writing herself into Golden State folklore for the rest of eternity. But that doesn't mean she has to carry the franchise alone. Providing her with a superstar partner would launch this roster into another stratosphere.

Golden State is one superstar away from a dynasty

30 points, 2 steals, and 4 blocks. Gabby Williams is different. To put up such a stat line in a Game 7 of the WNBA Finals is historic. Some players live for the moment; Williams was made for it. That doesn't mean she wouldn't benefit from a devastating partner in crime. The Valkyries would regret not making a statement after etching their name on the championship trophy.

Ballhalla is special, and it deserves special players. This roster has created memories that will last a lifetime, but a game-changing star can take this franchise even further. Defensively, this roster is remarkable; adding an offensive talisman who doesn't contribute as heavily to protecting the basket would be a bold yet brilliant move for Golden State.

If readers haven't guessed already, the player described is Kelsey Mitchell. There is still no word on where the veteran's future lies, but if it isn't with the Indiana Fever, the Valkyries must make a play for her signature. Mitchell averaged 24.7 points per game during a career-high year. Her offensive ability knew no bounds. If she played on a defensively sound team, Mitchell would be a perennial MVP candidate.

Kelsey Mitchell is not the only offensively brilliant star available this offseason. Kelsey Plum and Napheesa Collier are both up for grabs. Both players are exceptional in their own right, but both would bring different qualities to Golden State. Plum's exceptional shooting would take the team's offense to the next level. In comparison, Collier would bring a defensive and offensive presence that would match the franchise's current mentality.

The Golden State Valkyries can't afford to rest on their laurels; this offseason is a chance to prolong their championship window. The organisation must ride its historic momentum and step into greatness. Adding a bona fide superstar would go a long way toward creating a dynasty.
