UCLA women's basketball star Lauren Betts has enjoyed a strong 2024-25 season. Betts would be among the most notable prospects heading into the draft if she was planning on leaving the college basketball level following the 2024-25 campaign. However, it was recently revealed that Betts will return to UCLA for her senior season, per ESPN Women's Hoops.

Betts wants to win a championship with UCLA. UCLA is ranked No. 1 overall in the nation, so perhaps they can accomplish that goal this season. Either way, it appears that Betts will play another season at the college basketball level.

Betts has helped UCLA play extremely well all season long. They have been almost unstoppable throughout the 2024-25 campaign. The Bruins look like a legitimate championship contender.

Lauren Betts' college basketball career

Betts, a 21-year-old, began her college basketball career at Stanford in 2022-23. She displayed signs of potential but ultimately made the decision to join UCLA for the 2023-24 season. Betts immediately took a step forward in her career, proving to be a star. Her true breakout campaign has been this season, though.

Betts is averaging 20.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.9 blocks per outing. She is also shooting 64 percent from the field. Betts would be among the top picks in the draft this season. One has to imagine that she will be in contention to be the No. 1 overall pick next year following her senior season.

UCLA holds a 22-0 record overall. It has been a tremendous season for the team, and they would not be where they are without Lauren Betts' production.

UCLA women's basketball's impressive 2024-25 season

Anything can happen in March. Nothing is guaranteed. However, UCLA women's basketball looks like the championship favorite at the moment. They continue to find ways to win, establishing consistency throughout the campaign.

There is still plenty of work to do, of course. UCLA needs to keep their foot on the gas pedal as the season continues.

UCLA's next game is scheduled for Sunday against Oregon. They will then play No. 7 USC on Thursday in what should be an exciting and competitive matchup. The UCLA women's basketball team will have challenges throughout the remainder of the season, but they will unquestionably proceed with confidence.

Lauren Betts will attempt to lead her team to a national championship.
