The Indiana Fever defeated the Connecticut Sun 84-80 on Tuesday. Kelsey Mitchell led the way with 23 points. Caitlin Clark added 19 points, five rebounds and five assists. However, Lexie Hull also stepped up in the game, something she has been doing on a consistent basis since the Olympic break came to an end.
Hull scored 17 points and recorded eight rebounds in the victory. She went 4-6 from beyond the arc in the game. Hull has been incredibly efficient on her three-point shooting over the past few games, shooting 70 percent from deep since the Olympic break, per the Indiana Fever on X (formerly Twitter). She has not missed more than two three-point attempts in a game during that span.
Clark obviously receives plenty of attention. Mitchell has played well in 2024. Aliyah Boston and NaLyssa Smith have also enjoyed strong seasons. However, Indiana's depth will be important moving forward. Perhaps Hull will emerge as the team's X-factor ahead of the postseason.
Lexie Hull's 2024 season with Fever
The 24-year-old is averaging 5.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.8 assists per outing during the 2024 campaign. Those numbers will not jump off the page by any means. Hull, however, seems to be finding her rhythm in the second-half of the season.
The Fever guard has scored 10 or more points in three of Indiana's five games since returning to action in the second-half of the season. Hull scored 17 against Connecticut on Tuesday and previously dropped 22 points in a clash with the Seattle Storm.
Again, Caitlin Clark is arguably the most popular player in the WNBA. She receives most of the headlines. Meanwhile, Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston and NaLyssa Smith are stars and will continue to play impactful roles for the Fever. Lexie Hull's contributions should not be overlooked, though. She has an opportunity to make a difference as the season continues.
