The growth of women's sports has been fascinating to follow over the years. Women's basketball has especially seen an increase in popularity. Sure, some fans will immediately give Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese a significant portion of the credit -- and both of them are deserving given everything they have done for the game. However, there is more to growing the game than simply having popular players, something Paige Bueckers clearly understands.

Bueckers recently signed a three-year contract with Unrivaled Basketball. The 2025 first overall pick is already one of the most well known players in women's basketball. She wants to bring more than just her talent to the WNBA, though, which was evidenced by her decision to invest in Unrivaled. Bueckers made the comments on Good Morning America, quote via ESPN.

"I mean, investments in women's sports -- I feel like the return on investment has been amazing," Bueckers said. "Even the first year [of Unrivaled], the numbers were shocking. They just blew it out of the water. And just to invest so much in women's sports, it's growing at an all-time high, and it's just a great time to be in women's sports."

Bueckers, who was selected first overall by the Dallas Wings, has a bright basketball future ahead of her. Her decision to not just participate but also invest in Unrivaled speaks volumes about her dedication to growing the game.

No one would have blamed Bueckers if she joined the WNBA and just focused on playing basketball. Bueckers seemingly has a desire to use her growing platform as a way to further the growth of women's basketball.

Clark was the most popular player in the league a season ago. Reese wasn't far behind. A'ja Wilson is the face of the entire league in all reality. However, Paige Bueckers has the most attention right now after being selected first overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft. With everyone paying close attention to Bueckers, she is placing the focus on subjects such as Unrivaled.

Unrivaled Basketball made its debut this past WNBA offseason. As Bueckers mentioned, it was a success. Still, improvements can be made. The league is certainly receiving support from the players.

Bueckers' comments are important. She is speaking out on topics that matter as women's sports continues to trend in the right direction.

Not only is Paige Bueckers a great player, but she is displaying signs of impressive leadership as well.
