Paige Bueckers led the UConn women's basketball team to a 73-60 victory over Ole Miss on Wednesday. Projected first overall WNBA Draft pick Paige Bueckers led the way with 29 points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block. Bueckers continues to play at a high level for UConn, and she is closing in on a record. It was Bueckers' 25th 25-point game at the college level, which happens to be the second-most in UConn women's basketball history, per espnW.

Bueckers only trails UConn legend Maya Moore, who was one of the greatest women's college basketball players of all-time.

Moore averaged 19.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.3 blocks at the college level. Moore, who is now 35 years old, led UConn to two national championships. Bueckers is hoping to accomplish a similar feat in what could be her final college basketball season.

In 2024-25, Bueckers is averaging 22 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per outing. The UConn guard is making an all-around impact, and the team now holds a stellar 6-0 record to begin the new campaign.

Bueckers still has another year of college eligibility remaining, however. The expectation is that she will enter the 2025 WNBA Draft since she will likely be the No. 1 overall pick. Still, nothing is official yet.

The Dallas Wings won the WNBA Draft Lottery. Bueckers may welcome the opportunity to join Wings star Arike Ogunbowale in Dallas. Although Dallas endured a difficult 2024 season, they made a deep postseason run during the '23 campaign. The Wings could bounce back sooner rather than later, especially if Paige Bueckers does enter the draft and ends up in Dallas.

UConn women's basketball outlook moving forward

Bueckers and UConn will not play again until December 3, when they will face Holy Cross. UConn, No. 2 overall, will then battle other ranked teams in their next two matchups. On December 7, they will go head-to-head with No. 24 Louisville. UConn will then prepare for a difficult matchup against No. 3 Notre Dame on December 12.

It will certainly be a challenging week in December, but there is no reason to doubt this UConn women's basketball team. They have played with more than enough consistency throughout the 2024-25 season up to this point. Paige Bueckers will do everything she can to try to help her team stay undefeated as the 2024-25 season moves forward.
