These are just some of the many games that you shouldn’t miss.

Preseason is officially here, and we have a pretty good idea of what most rosters will look like by the time the regular season starts in May. That means, it’s now fairly obvious which regular-season games should be must-watch TV regardless of team affiliation and fandom.

May 9: Indiana Fever vs. Dallas Wings

The Fever and Wings also have a preseason game scheduled for May 1, but we may not see the main stars play a whole lot in that game. Their regular-season opener should be much more thrilling. It will be just the second time that Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers face off as pros—and the first time that both have competitive teams around them after the drastic changes the Wings made—and the game will feature the four last number-one picks if everyone is healthy and playing.

May 12: Dallas Wings vs. Atlanta Dream

Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese are some of the best young players in the league, but Wings-Sky matchups weren’t the most fun games to watch last season. When the Dream and Wings face off for the first time this season, it will be a first chance to see both young stars play with more competitive teams. It will also be a first indicator of how the Wings match up with one of the most stacked teams in the W.

May 14: Dallas Wings vs. Minnesota Lynx

This game will be the first meeting between the two top picks in the 2026 WNBA Draft, as Azzi Fudd will star for the Wings and Olivia Miles will suit up for the Lynx. It also marks Alanna Smith’s and Jessica Shepard’s first meeting with the team they abandoned in free agency and essentially relegated from contender to a mere playoff hopeful (their departures are just as impactful as Napheesa Collier’s injury).

May 17: Atlanta Dream vs. Las Vegas Aces

This will be the Dream’s first game against a top contender going into the season. It is an early chance for the team to establish itself as a threat to the reigning champions and an opportunity for Angel Reese to prove that she’s up to the challenge of being a key player on a competitive team. For the Aces, it marks a chance to shut down a young, up-and-coming team.

May 28: Dallas Wings vs. Las Vegas Aces

The Wings obviously want to build a winning team around Paige Bueckers and set the foundation for a future championship run. Playing the defending champions—one of the most veteran- and star-heavy teams in the league—will be the first litmus test for the new-look Wings.

June 3: New York Liberty vs. Toronto Tempo

Sandy Brondello led the Liberty to a championship in 2024, but was still let go after the 2025 season. She took over as the Tempo’s first head coach and is now heading an expansion team that looks determined to win right away. On top of that, Brondello brought two former Liberty players with her in Nyara Sabally and Isabelle Harrison.

June 4: Indiana Fever vs. Atlanta Dream

The Fever upset the Dream in the first round of the playoffs last year despite an array of injuries. This game is a first chance for the Dream to get revenge. Seeing Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese meet again (both playing for competitive teams this time) only adds to the potential rivalry.

June 21: New York Liberty vs. Los Angeles Sparks

Not only will this game feature two competitive teams facing off, but it is also a rematch of the first-ever WNBA game. On June 21, 1997, the Liberty beat the Sparks 67-57 to open the league’s inaugural season. The league has come a long way since then, and celebrating the WNBA’s history will be a great moment in a season defined by a game-changing new CBA.

June 23: Las Vegas Aces vs. New York Liberty

Fans will have to wait over a month to watch the two top contenders face off in the regular season. The Aces maintained their championship core and look as ready as they could possibly be to defend their title, but the Liberty also assembled a stacked roster by re-signing their own championship core from 2024 and adding Satou Sabally.

July 5: Las Vegas Aces vs. Indiana Fever

Not much has changed roster-wise for the Aces and Fever since they battled out Game 5 of the semifinals in overtime, but, hopefully, the Fever will be healthy when they get another shot at the reigning champions.
