Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese were both drafted into the WNBA in the first round of the 2024 WNBA Draft, and fans and the league quickly focused on the dynamic between the pair and a so-called rivalry that dominated the attention paid to the league.
That slowed down in 2025, largely because both athletes suffered injuries that kept them off the court, which meant the same tired narratives couldn't be rehashed over and over again. This also meant that the two young athletes were able to focus more on supporting their teammates and on their jobs, which was likely very welcome after the intensity of the prior season.
Clark and Reese don't appear to overlap much when it comes to off-court activities. Reese has been featured in a Victoria's Secret runway show and also attended the CFDA fashion awards this week, and Clark is set to return to play in the Annika pro-am golf tournament for the second year in a row.
But this could change if Juwanna Mann star Miguel A. Nunez Jr. has his way. Nunez was recently stopped at the airport by TMZ Sports, who asked him what projects he's been up to — and he revealed that he is putting together a sequel to the 2002 basketball comedy. On top of that, he's hoping both Reese and Clark will make cameos in the film.
Nunez stars in the original movie as a basketball player who is kicked out of the league after he pulls a stunt that he can't come back from. To stay in the game, he disguises himself as a woman and helps his team improve their record. He didn't explain what would transpire in a second film, but did note that it would be amazing to have both young stars play a role.
The actor also admitted that he wasn't sure if the nature of the film would be successful in 2025, but it appears that the studio is supportive. As he put it, "I didn't think like, in this day and age, that sort of stuff ... would fly, but I'm glad. It's better now than it was then ... But now it's kind of edgy, isn't it? To do that sort of thing. Which I think is good."
While Clark has not made her cinematic debut, Reese is no stranger to film cameos. She recently appeared in the nuclear disaster movie A House of Dynamite alongside Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson and Anthony Ramos.
