Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson is a three-time MVP, six-time All-Star and two-time WNBA champion. Yet, in 2024, Wilson, who earned her third MVP, displayed signs of improvement. The 28-year-old is getting even better despite already being the best player in the WNBA.

A'ja Wilson's incredible 2024 season

Wilson was already considered by many to be the best player in the WNBA heading into 2024. However, Breanna Stewart won the 2023 MVP, and people were wondering if Wilson was on the verge of being surpassed as the best player in the league.

How did Wilson respond? She answered by having her greatest individual campaign.

The Aces star averaged a career-high with 26.9 points per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field. She was especially aggressive on the offensive end of the floor, recording a career-high 19.6 field goal attempts per outing. Her previous career-best marks in points and field goal attempts per game was 22.8 PPG and 16.1 FGA.

It was more than just a scoring boost, though. Wilson dominated on the boards, setting another new career-high with 11.9 rebounds per game. She had previously never averaged more than 10 boards per contest. Wilson's 2.6 blocks and 1.8 steals per game were also career-bests. Her 2.3 assists per outing was the second-highest mark of her career.

A'ja Wilson was simply incredible in 2024. Many players would have been content with where their careers were after already establishing themselves as stars. After all, Wilson had already earned two MVP awards and two championships before the 2024 campaign. Although the Aces fell short of a third consecutive WNBA Finals victory last season, Wilson took a step forward from an individual standpoint.

Will Wilson improve even more in 2025?

In all reality, it is difficult to envision Wilson's numbers getting even better in 2025 following her jaw-dropping 2024 performance. However, it also would not be completely shocking. Wilson is continuing to work hard and she is clearly determined to play at not just a high level, but a truly elite level.

Will Wilson improve even more during the upcoming 2025 season? Only time will tell, but it is certainly a possibility. She will have extra motivation following the Aces' failure to win a championship in 2024. One has to imagine that A'ja Wilson is looking to lead Las Vegas back to the WNBA Finals as soon as possible.
