Rebuilding around Rhyne Howard

Departures

Ogechi Anyagalibo, Nae Nae Cole, Sabrina Haines, Amanda Paschal, Jaida Roper were all seniors in 2019-20.

Returners

There’s rising junior guard Rhyne Howard, 2020 SEC Player of the Year, and rising senior Chasity Patterson, 2020 Sixth Player of the Year, both returning. Kameron Roach and Deasia Merrill are returning after injury last season. Tatyana Wyatt and Keke McKinney will also be seniors, Blair Green will be a junior and Emma King a sophomore.

Arrivals

Kentucky has one transfer now eligible, two new transfers and three incoming freshmen.

Forward Dre’una Edwards – 2019 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year at Utah, sat out last season due to transfer rules and injury. As a freshman, started 26 games and averaged 11.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Scored 20 or more points three times.

Guard Treasure Hunt – 6’2 guard is a five-star recruit and ESPN’s No. 29 player in 2020’s class, who has been described as someone with  “a college-ready frame” who can shoot, finish in traffic and play on the defensive end.

Forward Niya Leveretter – an ESPN four-star recruit at 6’3, and Matthew Mitchell likes her ability to defend and play in transition.

Guard Erin Toller – a four-star recruit and point guard who is described as a floor general and playmaker as well as a player who can score from deep.

Guard Jazmine Massengill – transfer arriving from Tennessee after her sophomore season, in which she averaged 28.5 minutes, 6.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists. 6’0 guard was a five-star recruit in 2018, and already has a relationship with Howard and Hunt.

Guard Robyn Benton – transfer arriving from Auburn, where she played in 20 games, averaging 10.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.8 steals, 1.4 assists per game in 2019-20. She was named to the 2019 SEC All-Freshman Team.
