Florida adds size

Departures

Starter and redshirt senior Zada Williams (10.4p/7.2r/62FG%) finished eligibility. Guards Brylee Bartram (14.9minutes/4.2p) and Ariel Johnson (6.4p, 3.8r) have transferred. Emer Nichols is no longer listed on the team’s roster.

Returners

Redshirt senior Danielle Rainey missed the 2019-20 season with a knee injury. Starting guards Lavender Briggs (led in points, blocks, 2nd in rebounds), Kiara Smith (led assists, steals and second in scoring) and Kristina Moore (5.7p/3.9r) return. Guard Nina Rickards (5.6p/3.9r) returns for her sophomore season. Faith Dut is a sophmore and Emanuely de Oliveira is a junior.

Arrivals 

Florida has three incoming freshmen and one grad transfer.

Forward Emily Sullivan – The 6’4 Sullivan comes from the North Carolina Tar Heels as a graduate transfer, where she missed much of the last two seasons due to injury. Her sophomore season (2017-18) was her most active.

Forward Floor Toonders – 6’4 Toonders comes from the Netherlands, has played for the U18 national team and brings both size and shooting.

Forward Jordyn Merritt – ESPN’s No. 31 player in 2020 class, and the highest-ranked recruit to sign with Florida since 2013. Averaged 13.7p/7.4r and led Plano High School to a state championship. Briggs was also a five-star recruit.

Guard Brynn Farrell – a 6’0 guard, also led her school to state title, averaged 18 points per game.
