JACKIE POWELL: With the first pick in the 2020 WNBA draft, the New York Liberty have selected a generational player with Sabrina Ionescu. After losing a franchise player in Tina Charles on Wednesday to the Washington Mystics, Ionescu becomes the focal point of the Liberty, an organization that hired a new head coach and will play in a new arena, Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
