8. Chicago Sky select Beatrice Mompremier

There’s no denying the talent and potential here — Mompremier has a 6’4, pro-ready frame, a significant array of post moves, and the understanding that she needs to expand her game further. In fact, it’s the reason she returned to Miami instead of entering the 2019 draft. But it’s worth asking… in what way has she done so? The numbers this season are all static or down some relative to last year. An injury limited her to 17 games this year, and it was to her foot, always a red flag with bigs. James Wade will know what to do with her, but the expected rise into the lottery for Mompremier this season just didn’t materialize.
