10. Connecticut Sun select Ruthy Hebard, 6’4 C, Oregon

The Sun thought they had a third big to utilize with Jonquel Jones and Bri Jones in the draft last year when they selected Kristine Anigwe ninth overall. But after she proved to be a poor fit, ultimately shouting at Curt Miller on the bench during a game against the New York Liberty, the Sun sent her to Dallas for Theresa Plaisance. She still has a year on her contract, but it would make sense for the Sun to start finding rookie contract options to back up Jonquel Jones, with Jones and several other Sun players set to get paid. It is extraordinarily difficult to imagine Ruthy Hebard shouting at a coach, and her ability to score without unnecessary movement, a post game that is efficient and a rebounding prowess that is among the best in the country — not to mention an elevated block rate — gives Miller a potential different look during second unit run next season.
