One of Iowa’s most touted recruits ever is going to be a Hawkeye

Caitlin Clark, the fourth ranked player in the 2020 class, according to ESPN, has committed to the University of Iowa. Clark, a native of West Des Moines, Iowa, attends Dowling Catholic High School and plays AAU for All-Iowa Attack of the Nike EYBL.

Clark, a 5’11 point guard, is the second-ranked point guard in the class behind Paige Bueckers (UConn). The best word to define Clark’s game is playmaker. Clark just finds ways to make plays on the court. She may be the most prolific and precise passer in the 2020 class, and her ability to finish at all three levels, gives her an edge on the offensive end that makes her an elite point guard prospect.

One thing that all coaches are looking for in their point guard is leadership. According to multiple sources, this is not only a quality and characteristic that Clark brings to the court everyday, it could be one that separates her from the rest of her class.

Clark will join an Iowa team that is coming off of an Elite 8 performance last season, and is off to a 1-0 start this year.

Clark is the highest ranked recruit for Lisa Bluder during her tenure as head coach of the Hawkeyes.  After obtaining multiple offers, Clark chose the Hawkeyes over Notre Dame and Iowa State.
