A look into Chicago’s two big wins and the path ahead

High Post Hoops’ Chicago Sky reporter, Nick Niendorf, is back with another episode of the Skycast to talk about the Sky’s latest two wins, as well as the inclusion of the WNBA in NBA 2K newest game.

For Niendorf, Sky center Jantel Lavender in particular stood out in Chicago’s win against the New York Liberty, a testament to just how important she has been to the team so far this year.

“Jantel has just been super huge this year,” Niendorf said. “I think out of almost anything that Wade has done in his first season, I think that acquisition has just been phenomenal for the Sky. She is really one of the bigs that has just been consistently impactful for them and  I think has brought a great energy to this team, and has really contribute to this new and budding culture.”

Chicago’s win against the Liberty helped them equal their total wins from last season. With nine games still left to play in the year, the Sky have plenty of room to improve on that win total.

“They’re 13-9 now which, considering how much left of the season there is to play, is just an awesome sign of growth in such a short amount of time for the team, and  a good sign moving forward. We’ll see how much the Sky can build upon that with the games they left, but the road certainly won’t be easy.”

With Chicago going on the road to the Las Vegas Aces and Los Angeles Sparks, and then returning home to play the Sparks once more, the Sky will be tested in the upcoming week.
