An agent change for a leading rookie

Napheesa Collier, the lone WNBA All Star out of the 2019 WNBA Draft and an important contributor with the Minnesota Lynx, has signed with Erin Kane and Octagon, a league source told High Post Hoops Tuesday.

Collier, who signed with Allison Galer and Disrupt The Game out of college, becomes the third 2019 rookie to join Kane and Octagon. Sophie Cunningham of the Phoenix Mercury and Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings are also Kane clients.

More from Minnesota Lynx

Collier has started all 21 games of her Lynx career, and is averaging 12.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game for Cheryl Reeve’s team, helping Minnesota overcome injuries to numerous frontcourt players, including Jessica Shepard and Karima Christmas-Kelly.

Kane, who also represents Elena Delle Donne and Kristi Toliver, now has a strong shot at repping both the 2019 Rookie of the Year and MVP, a double that Lindsay Kagawa Colas experienced last season with A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart, respectively.

Colas reps six players who were picked in the 2019 WNBA Draft: Jackie Young, Asia Durr, Katie Lou Samuelson, Han Xu, Marina Mabrey and Megan Huff. The first five made WNBA rosters.

However, Kane leads in the prestigious category of “Rookie win shares by agent”, with Collier (2.4), Ogunbowale (0.9) and Cunningham (0.6) totaling 3.9. Colas’ quintet have collected a total of 2.1 win shares so far.
