5. Liz Cambage

Another candidate for best player in the league, Liz Cambage has been a force, even as she’s been getting up to full strength in limited minutes to date for the Las Vegas Aces, her new team. Look at how much better they are with Cambage on the court, and no wonder: the 6’8, 225-pound Cambage is a physically unstoppable force in the paint, can drag her defender out beyond the three-point line, while her gifted passing means open shots for the other four elite Las Vegas starters whenever she is double-teamed. She blocks shots in bunches, she once again is limiting her turnovers despite defenders going hard at her every second she’s on the court. Cambage, like others at this spot on the list, can and does win games by herself at times. Still just 27, the idea that Cambage could get even better may feel preposterous, but it really isn’t.
