Both teams continue to finalize their rosters as the WNBA season opener draws near.

The Chicago Sky waived guard Allazia Blockton while the Dallas Wings waived center Cayla George and guard Nicole Seekamp.

Blockton signed a training camp contract with the Sky on April 23. The Milwaukee native played four years at Marquette where she finished as the school’s all-time leader in points. Blockton played three minutes in the Sky’s preseason opener, but did not play in the team’s final preseason game.

Chicago now has 15 players left on their training camp roster. They tip off their regular season away against the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday, May 25.

More from Chicago Sky

George played with the Wings last season, averaging 3.6 points per game in 10.7 minutes. The Australian center played in 16 and seven minutes in the team’s first two preseason games, but received a DNP-Coach’s Decision in the final game. George had previously played with the Phoenix Mercury.

Seekamp appeared in each of the Wings’ three preseason games, averaging 14 minutes per game. The 5’10 guard started in all but three games during her career at South Dakota, a school record. Seekamp has played in both Poland and in with the Adelaide Lightning in Australia since graduating from South Dakota.

The Wings will need to cut three more players before the start of the regular season. Their regular season begins away Friday, May 24 against the Atlanta Dream.

Both teams have until this Thursday to finalize their 12 roster spots.
