Connecticut Sun hire new video coordinator as the opening of the 2019 season nears
On May 19 the Connecticut Sun announced the hiring of Awvee Storey as video coordinator.
Storey played basketball at Illinois and Arizona State before spending three years in the NBA, finishing with the 2007-08 Milwaukee Bucks, and one year in the NBA Development League. He also played in New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, Germany and China.
After he retired Storey was hired as a video coordinator by the Washington Wizards. He moved to the WNBA in 2011 when he began working with the Washington Mystics. He assisted with workouts, player development and scouting.

During the 2017 season, Storey served as an assistant coach with the Chicago Sky. In 2018 he served an assistant with the Capital City Go-Go in the G League.
In a press release, Sun head coach and general manager Curt Miller said “Awvee is a fantastic addition to our coaching staff … He has multiple years of experience in professional basketball including the WNBA and has a unique gift in relating to players at this level. He will work directly with our post players and play a large role in overall player development. Awvee will also serve in our video coordinator role and have scouting responsibilities.”
The Sun open the regular season at home against the Washington Mystics on May 25. They defeated the New York Liberty on Sunday afternoon in their preseason finale, 98-79.
