Minnesota general manager Cheryl Reeve made an interesting multi-year bet on this year’s offseason as well. Note that she is now locked into Karima Christmas-Kelly, Damiras Dantas and Odyssey Sims, full protection, all north of $100,000. It’s less of a 2020 problem in the sense that the Lynx have a ton of potential talent on rookie scale deals now, from Napheesa Collier to Jess Shepard, not to mention Lexie Brown, but all three vet additions are getting paid more like they would be in their projected Minnesota roles than their 2018 production elsewhere, especially Sims…. Brown, who projects as a combo guard but has point guard skills, can provide value for years to come, with that low team option in 2021… note Sylvia Fowles gets paid again after 2019, will be interesting to see if the sides lock that down before or after a new CBA. Bet on the latter…
