Daniel, who went 71-85 in five seasons at Marshall, resigned after the 2016-17 season to return to Arkansas when his wife secured a job as a dentist that they couldn’t turn down.

“I am so thankful for our time here,” said Daniel at the time of his resigning at Marshall. “Having both of our daughters born here, this place will always be special to us. Given my wife’s work as a dentist, we were offered an opportunity to return home to Arkansas that we couldn’t pass up. While I don’t know what the future holds for me professionally, this decision really isn’t about me. I am doing what I believe is best for us and giving our children the opportunity to grow up around their extended family.”

While at Marshall, Daniel led the program to two of it’s three all-time postseason appearances, including trips to both the WBI and the WNIT.

Prior to Marshal, Daniel was at the helm of the Central Arkansas Sugar Bears, where the team won at least 21 games in three of his four seasons.

Daniel replaces Brian Boyer who was let go after 20 years at the school. Boyer went 333-287 overall and193-145 in the Sun Belt, but hadn’t finished over .500 in three consecutive seasons.
