Georgia Southern- Sun Belt

Departed coach/record:  Kip Drown, 4 seasons (32-86 overall, 18-57 in the Sun Belt)

Reason for departure:  After winning nine games in the difficult Sun Belt in year two, the team won just two games in the seasons since and Drown’s contract was not renewed.

New coach/previous position:  Anita Howard, Columbus State (D2) head coach- Howard complied a stellar 66-25 record over three seasons at Columbus State, making the NCAA tournament all three seasons and even made a run to the Elite Eight in 2016-17.

A Georgia native, Howard also becomes the first African-American woman hired as a head coach in Georgia Southern’s history.
