Portland- WCC

Departed coach/record:  Cheryl Sorenson, 7 seasons (33-117 overall, 15-75 in the WCC)

Reason for departure:  Elevated to the position after longtime head coach Jim Solars retired in 2014, Sorenson could never get it going. The team’s 13 wins this season were the most in her tenure. Her contract was not renewed.

New coach/previous position:  Michael Meek, George Fox (D3) head coach- For the second time in a row, George Fox has their head coach plucked by a D1 school. Meek’s predecessor, Scott Rueck, is the current head coach at Oregon State, and surely Portland would be pleased if Meek can be even a fraction as successful as Rueck.

Meek led George Fox for the past nine seasons and holds a 230-35 career record and took them to two national championship appearances.
