Marquette- Big East
Departed coach/record: Carolyn Kieger, 5 seasons (99-64 overall, 56-34 in the Big East)
Reason for departure: Kieger accepted the head coaching position at Penn State.
New coach/previous position: Megan Duffy, Miami (OH) head coach- The sample size is small, but what Duffy has done as a head coach has been excellent. In two seasons at Miami (OH), she won 20 games in back-to-back seasons, the first time that’s been done in Oxford since the 1980’s. Considering she took over a program who hadn’t won more than 12 games in the previous four seasons, that accomplishment is even more impressive. The former Notre Dame great will have her hands full here though: Marquette graduated their top five scorers from this season.
