LIU-Brooklyn- NEC

Departed coach/record:  Stephanie Del Preore, 4 seasons (32-87 overall, 23-49 in the NEC)

Reason for departure:  Well, we don’t really know. The school is yet to make an announcement, but we can confirm that Del Preore has left. LIU-Brooklyn announced a few months ago that it would be combining its athletic department with LIU-Post (D2) campus. The merger meant that, obviously, some coaches would be losing their jobs. It is unsure if the school plans on hiring the Post staff, or if they will conduct a search. Regardless, we will update you once we know.

New coach/previous position: Rene Haynes, Duke assistant coach- Haynes takes over LIU-Brooklyn after a five-year stint as an assistant at Duke. Haynes had a long, successful playing career both at Michigan State as a college athlete and in Europe as a professional. Haynes will look to make the Blackbirds respectable in the NEC, something they’ve yet to achieve.
